[The] writing style was light and engaging and a pleasure to read, especially for what could be a very dense and heavy topic.

About Me
Peter Cardilla
Writer of code, books, songs, etc.Hi, my name is Peter Cardilla and I write. I write code. I write songs. I write books.
I’ve been writing code since I was a child and doing it professionally since the first internet boom in the late 1990s. I’ve spent nearly all of the past 30 years building and maintaining commercial websites and online services.
As a programmer, my ability to explain complicated ideas in simple terms was often an invaluable asset to my team. This important skill, being able to communicate clearly and effectively, has been a key to my success, not just professionally, but in every area of my life; as a father and husband, as a writer and lecturer, and as a teacher and coach.
My ability to connect with people is the foundation of all my relationships.

I have a passion for words.
Words are important. Words bring our thoughts into the real world. They provide our best chance to take an idea from your head and put it in my head. Words are beautiful. Words are powerful.
In a world constantly updating how it communicates, there are many new voices but few new ideas. Much of the messaging we hear is antagonistic or patronizing, neither of which warrants honest consideration. New ideas lift us up and move us forward and new ideas have to be shared.
Let There Be Songs to Fill the Air
My first love as a writer is songwriting. Since 2015, many have known me as Little Petie of the Santa Cruz, California rock & roll band Little Petie & the Mean Old Men.
I’m also a proud supporter of Shriners Children’s Hospitals. Here is a picture of me performing at a Shriners event in 2022.

Testimonials for The Beginning Is Wisdom
-
Jeff Wilkins
PGM, Grand Lodge of California -
He speaks plainly but doesn’t oversimplify things. He explains ideas that could be hard to understand, like the Zohar or the dual meanings in Masonic symbols, in a way that’s easy to grasp
D. L. Bowers
Freemason, Frank C. Folks Lodge #192 -
A very interesting book written in a clear and accessible manner.
R.E. Sohl

What makes this book particularly effective is its accessibility…the book [is] approachable for both seasoned Freemasons and curious newcomers.
